Uber Eats reveals the weirdest food cravings – would you try them?

Ordering from Uber Eats is a convenient way to satisfy your deepest culinary cravings—without spilling the beans in a restaurant or at a counter.

No one has to know what strange food combinations you’re consuming in the privacy of your own home—until now, anyway.

Uber Eats has released its sixth annual Uber Eats Cravings Report, spotlighting some of the craziest customer questions from 2024.

“We’re back with the sixth annual Uber Eats Wishes Report – a snapshot of the most popular, most unusual and some of the strangest delivery requests,” said Sara Harrell, senior data scientist at Uber Eats. in a statement to The Post.

“Year after year, it becomes increasingly clear that consumers want to take advantage of our customization features to ensure that every order meets their wishes,” said Harrell.

Combining two different foods that may not go together can be dangerous and sometimes results in a new trend – such as the “swicy” (sweet and spicy) trend or KitKats slathered in ketchup.

But some Uber Eaters seem to want to walk on the edible wild side.

Given that some people’s “yuck” is another person’s “yum,” as the saying goes, some of the food combinations discovered are certainly unique.

They include scallops and boiled eggs; fajitas and French onion soup; fried fish sticks and green tea; pepperoni and anchovy pizza; and orange cream and Tajin.

According to the data, these were by far the most requested orders of the site.

The most popular 2024 delivery combinations consisted of the classic chicken tenders and fries; ramen and soft-boiled egg; cheeseburger with diced onion; burrito bowl and guacamole; and salad and bread.

As well as going to Uber Eats to order their wackiest food combinations, people rely on the food delivery app to get their food exactly how they want it – and it looks like they won’t shy away from making even more requests. strange than the food they are ordering.

Some people really lean toward the phrase “the more the better,” with one person asking for 20 times the amount of an ingredient. “Can I have 20 times more green onions, please? Charge me extra. I love green onions,” they demanded.

“I purposely chose any extra cheese, please add maximum cheese. Also please add extra mayo. Thank you very much!” pleaded a cheese lover.

Others wanted their food swimming in the sauce, with one asking, “I don’t want to repeat myself, how PLEASE wipe my sandwich until it falls apart. Please add an additional cup of liquid.”

Someone else asked for their food to be “drenched” in spicy mayo, asking: “Please use spicy mayo – spicy mayo on the base and spicy mayo on top, wet please.”

“THE HOTTEST LEVEL!!! PLEASE I KNOW IT ONLY SAYS 5 STARS BUT I WANT THE HOTTEST LEVEL!!! And last time they didn’t give me the fish sauces so is it ok this time you guys can give me please and thank you,” asked a spicy customer.

Others believed they knew how to run a kitchen better than a restaurant. One person even told the restaurant what “made wings” meant, writing: “Made wings.” Not well-done, not well-done, but wings done to where they’re slightly browned on 30% of the surface, please.”

Another asked: “Please make sure the chicken is cooked all the way through and make sure there are vents in the pan so the chicken stays crispy. Thanks in advance.”

Others indicated they were eating for two, revealing their pregnancy wishes in the prompts.

“Can I please toast the dark bread! Sorry for the strange request! I’m pregnant and that burnt taste is what I love lol! And if possible, can you put butter on the bread?” asked one.

Another asked, “Extra jalapeños, grilled peppers and onions, raw onions, beans, lettuce, tomato, hot guacamole sauce and lots of sour cream please. And lots of cheese please, I’m pregnant and craving it thanks.”

Some people were also looking for loved ones. A user ordering for his grandmother asked the restaurant not to put too much spice, just enough to cover the item, because “that’s how my grandmother likes it and sometimes you put too much spice”.

“My wife loves her ketchup, so put as much as you can,” asked another on behalf of their husband.

Breakdowns of the numbers on the delivery app also revealed the most popular requests of the year.

The top 10 in the US were: No onion, no tomato, extra sauce, spicy, well done, no cheese, fries, no vegetables, no ice and no mushrooms.

And when it comes to groceries, bananas are the top item ordered each week on the app.

According to the report, Uber Eats’ #1 late-night order is a medium order of fries.

The most ordered items of 2024 were: burrito bowls, fries, chicken nuggets, chicken sandwich, waffle fries, cheeseburger, mac & cheese, boneless wings, pepperoni pizza and fried rice.

Uber Eats data revealed that vodka was among the most ordered alcoholic beverages on the platform, with Tito’s being the all-time favorite. Sangria also made a “shocking” appearance in this year’s report.

Other top alcohol orders included Tito’s Handcrafted Vodka, Mexican Corona Extra Lager, Michelob Ultra Superior Light Beer, Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine and Oyster Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc White Wine.

Food and alcohol pairings were also popular, with the most frequent pairings being frozen margaritas and steak; margaritas on the rocks and tacos; Pinot Noir and bruschetta; beer and hot dogs; and daiquiri and catfish.
